About me

Hi, I am Louis-François, but you can call me Louis (loo·ee, French pronunciation), from Montreal, Canada, also known as What's AI on YouTube or Medium. In short, my goal is to explain artificial intelligence by offering simple answers to the question "What is AI".

I am focusing on making AI accessible. I try to share and explain artificial intelligence in simple terms and share the new research state and applications for everyone. I want to demystify the AI “black box” for everyone and sensitize people about the risks of using it.

I am currently doing my master's degree in artificial intelligence - computer vision at the École de Technologie Supérieure while working part-time as the Lead AI Research Scientist at designstripe.

I am currently doing my Ph.D. at Mila/Polytechnique Montréal while working on my startup as a co-founder and CTO at Towards AI.

Why did I make a website? Because I love to learn and share what I learn. I do this by writing articles and making videos and other interesting projects I am working on, all shared here.

INFP, if that's interesting to you!

For me, a typical day consists of moving a lot, working on different projects, learning, eating, and sleeping at least 8 hours. I am particularly interested in AI, neurosciences, philosophy, nutrition, my cat, and sports in general.

I recently fell in love with Yuval Noah Harari's books. Please email me (see form below) reading recommendations related to this or the subjects I mentioned above!

If I had one book to recommend reading, it is Why We Sleep: Unlocking the Power of Sleep and Dreams by Matthew Walker, Ph.D. Just give it a go. It will change your view on sleep forever.

One advice? Do the best you can and don't stress too much about it; you can't do more anyways!

Luck is just a bi-product of hard work, dedication, and discipline.
